33:0 Յաղագս Սուրենայ Պահլաւի, որ եկն եւ նա զօրօք բազմօք. եւ սա եւս նկուն լինէր իբրեւ զառաջինսն:

33:0 How Suren pahlaw came against Armenia and how he, like his predecessors, was defeated:

33:1 Ապա կրկնէր լինէր զօրաժողով Շապուհ արքայ Պարսից, կազմէր պատրաստէր գունդս բազումս զօրացն եւ փիղս անթիւս, զօրս ընդիրս եւ պատերազմողս. եւ Սուրէն Պահլաւ, որ ազգակից իսկ էր Արշակայ թագաւորին Հայոց, եւ Մերուժանն առաջնորդ նոցա. եւ արձակեաց ի վերայ նոցա:

33:1 But once again Shapuh, the king of Iran, mustered troops, arranging and preparing many troops of select martial men, and countless elephants and entrusted them to Suren Pahlaw who, in fact, was a relative of Arshak, the king of Armenia. Meruzhan was their guide. Shapuh dispatched them against the Armenians:

33:2 Ապա քանզի եւ Վասակ զօրավարն Հայոց խաղաց գնաց ընդ առաջ նոցա երեսուն հազարաւ, հարկանէր ի դիմի զՍուրէն եւ սպանանէր, եւ զզօրսն կոտորեաց. բայց Մերուժան փախչէր:

33:2 But the general of Armenia, Vasak, came up before them with [30000] troops, struck and killed Suren who was across from him, and destroyed his troops. However, once again Meruzhan escaped:
