34:0 Յաղագս Ապական Վսեմականի, զի եկն եւ նա յայս պատերազմս, եւ նմա ձախողեցաւ որպէս առաջնոցն:

34:0 About Apakan Vsemakan who came to the country of Armenia to fight with his innumerable troops; and how he failed like his predecessors:

34:1 Իսկ յետ Սուրենայ եկն Վսեմական. գայր հասանէր անչափ բազմութեամբ եւ անթիւ զօրօք, եւ Մերուժան առաջնորդ առաքեալ ի Շապհոյ արքայէն Պարսից ի գործ պատերազմի ի վերայ երկրին Հայոց:

34:1 After Suren, it was Vsemakan who came, sent by king Shapuh of Iran to war against the country of Armenia. He arrived with an immeasurable host and countless troops, having Meruzhan as a guide:

34:2 Ապա առաքեցաւ ընդ առաջ նորա Վասակ սպարապետ զօրավարն Հայոց. հարկանէր սատակէր զԱպականն Վսեմական հանդերձ զօրօքն, եւ զմին ի նոցանէն ոչ ապրեցուցանէր:

34:2 However, the sparapet, general of Armenia, Vasak, was sent before him. Vasak struck and killed Apakan Vsemakan with the troops, not sparing a single one of them:

34:3 Բայց միայն փախչէր չարագործն Մերուժան:

34:3 Only the malefactor Meruzhan fled:
