39:0 Concerning Boyakan and his [400000] troops who were defeated and destroyed by sparapet Vasak:

39:1 Յետ այսորիկ Բոյեկան մեծ նախարար Պարսից, եւ քառասուն բիւր ընդ նմա, գային հասանէին յԱտրպատական. կամէին ասպատակ առնել յերկիրն Հայոց:

39:1 After this the great Iranian naxarar Boyekan reached Atrpatakan with [400000] troops. They wanted to raid the country of Armenia:

39:2 Ապա զառաջեօք անգանէր Վասակ իւրով հայաստան գնդաւն, հարկանէր զզօրսն ամենայն Պարսից, եւ զԲոյեկանն սպանանէր ի Թաւրէժն:

39:2 But Vasak came before him with his Hayastan brigade, and struck all the Iranian troops, including Boyekan, in Tawrezh:

39:3 Եւ այրէր անդ զապարանս թագաւորին Պարսից. եւ գտեալ անդ զպատկեր թագաւորին Պարսից, նետաձիգ եղեալ` նետալից առնէր:

39:3 There Vasak burned down the king’s mansion. Finding there an image of the Iranian king, he used it as a target and shot it full of arrows:

39:4 Բայց միայն փախչէր Մերուժանն ընդ նոսա եկեալ:
