46:0 Յաղագս Շապստան տակառապետին, որ եկն հինգ հարեւր բիւրուն ի վերայ աշխարհին Հայոց. ապա եւ զնոսա հարկանէին սատակէին զօրքն Հայոց:

46:1 Շապստան տակառապետն գայր հասանէր հինգ հարիւր բիւրուն ի վերայ աշխարհին Հայոց, եւ կամէր մտանել յաշխարհն Հայոց:

46:1 Shapstan, the chief cup-bearer, came against the land of Armenia with [500000] troops and wanted to enter the land:

46:2 Ապա կազմեալ պատրաստեալ գունդն զօրաց թագաւորին Հայոց, եւ Վասակ զօրավարն Հայոց, ելանէր ի դիմի հարկանէր զօրացն Պարսից:

46:2 But the arranged and prepared brigade of troops of the king of Armenia and Vasak, general of Armenia, came forth and struck the Iranian troops:

46:3 Հարկանէին կոտորէին զզօրսն Պարսից, եւ սպանանէին զՇապստան տակառապետն Պարսկաց:

46:3 They struck and destroyed the Iranian troops and killed Shapstan, the chief cup-bearer of the Iranians:

46:4 Բայց միայն փախչէր Մերուժանն, ապրեալ լինէր:

46:4 Only Meruzhan fled and survived:
