32:0 Յաղագս Դեհկան նահապետի, որ առաքեցաւ ի Շապհոյ արքայէ Պարսից ի վերայ Արշակայ Հայոց արքային` զօրօք. ապա հասանէր սատակէր զնոսա զօրավարն Հայոց Վասակ:

32:0 Concerning the nahapet Dehkan, who was sent by king Shapuh of Iran with many troops against king Arshak of Armenia; and how Vasak, the general of Armenia, struck and killed him and his troops:

32:1 Յետ այսր ամենայնի Շապուհ արքային Պարսից զօրաժողով լինէր, եւ կուտէր զօրս անչափ եւ անթիւ եւ անհամար իբրեւ զաւազ ծովու, եւ կուռ վառեալ` որք նիզակ ի ձեռն առնուին, չորեքհարիւր բեւր զօրս բազումս:

32:1 After all this Shapuh, the king of Iran, mustered troops assembling countless, numberless troops, resembling the sand by the seashore - well-armed men with spears in hand, many troops, [400000] of them:

32:2 Եւ զԴեհկան նահապետ, որ տոհմիկ իսկ էր ազգաւ տոհմին զօրավարացն Հայոց, այս ինքն Մամիկոնենից, առաքէր զնա թագաւորն Պարսից Շապուհ յերկիրն Հայոց ի վերայ Արշակայ արքային Հայոց:

32:2 And the Iranian king Shapuh sent Dehkan nahapet who was a tohm-member by azg of the tohm of the generals of Armenia, that is, of the Mamikoneans to the country of Armenia against king Arshak of Armenia:

32:3 Գայր հասանէր ի սահմանս երկրին Հայոց. ապա եւ զհայացիսն ոչ ինչ ծուլացեալ ի քուն գտանէր, այլ կազմ պատրաստք կային նմին գործոյ ճակատուն պատերազմի:

32:3 He arrived at the borders of the country of Armenia. But this time the Armenians were in no way caught napping; rather, they were organized and ready to wage war:

32:4 Եւ զօրավարն Վասակ ելանէր ընդ առաջ նոցա եւթանասուն հազարաւ. հարկանէր սատակէր զզօրսն ամենայն Պարսից, սպանանէր զիւր զազգային զԴեհկան նահապետն, եւ զմնացեալսն առաջի իւր տանէր փախստական ձիահալածք արարեալք:

32:4 General Vasak arose before them with [70000] troops. He struck and killed all the Iranian troops, including his own relative Dehkan nahapet, and expelled before them all the fugitives on horseback:

32:5 Բայց Մերուժանն Արծրունի փախուցեալ ապրէր, որ առաջնորդէր նոցա:

32:5 However, Meruzhan Arcruni, who guided them, fled and survived:
