35:0 Յաղագս Զըկայ նուիրակապետի, որ առաքեցաւ ի Շապհոյ արքայէն ի վերայ Հայոց բազում զօրօք ի պատերազմ, եւ սատակեցաւ իբրեւ զառաջինսն:

35:0 About the Persian nuirakapet Zik, who was sent with many troops to make war against Armenia by the impious Iraranian king Shapuh, and who failed like his predecessors:

35:1 Յետ այսորիկ Զիկ նուիրակապետն զիւր արձակեաց Շապուհ արքայ Պարսից, մղել զպատերազմ Հայոց. եւ զՄերուժանն առաջնորդ ընդ նոսա առնէր:

35:1 After this king Shapuh of Iran sent his chief nuncio, Zik, to wage war in Armenia. Meruzhan was their guide:

35:2 Եւ գումարէր գումարտակ բազում իբրեւ զաւազ ծովու բազմութեամբ, եւ գային հասանէին յերկիրն Հայոց:

35:2 He assembled battalions which in their number resembled the sands of the sea, and they came and reached the country of Armenia:

35:3 Ապա ելանէր ի դիմի հարկանէր նոցա Վասակ զօրավարն Հայոց. Զիկն սպանանէր, եւ զզօրսն զկէսն կոտորէր, եւ զկէսն առաջի իւրեանց փախստական առնէին:

35:3 But the general of Armenia, Vasak, arose and opposed him. He killed Zik and destroyed half of the troops, driving the other half before him as fugitives:

35:4 Այն անգամ եւս ոչ կարէին ի բուռն արկանել զՄերուժանն:

35:4 But on that occasion as well they were unable to lay hold of Meruzhan:
