45:0 Յաղագս Սակստան անդերձապետի, որ առաքեցաւ ի Շապհոյ թագաւորէն Պարսից չորեքհարիւր հազարաւ, եւ փախոյց եւս զնա Վասակ զօրավարն Հայոց:

45:0 Regarding the handerjapet Sakstan who was sent by Shapuh the Iranian king with [400000] men; and how he too was put to flight by general Vasak and his army:

45:1 Ապա յետ այսորիկ ժողովեաց թագաւորն Պարսից Շապուհ զզօրս իւր, եւ հազարս չորեքհարեւր. եւ Սակստան անդերձապետ զօրագլուխ նոցա:

45:1 After this king Shapuh of Iran assembled his troops, some [400000] appointing Sakstan anderjapet as their military commander:

45:2 Ապա խաղացին գնացին ի կողմանս Հայոց. եկին ծաւալեցան ճակատեցան ընդ թագաւորութեանն Հայոց Արշակայ:

45:2 They went to the area of Armenia. They came and fought with king Arshak of Armenia:

45:3 Ապա ի մի վայր եկեալք ամենայն մեծամեծք նախարարացն Հայոց, խորհուրդ խորհէին. քանզի ոչ առնուին յանձն երբէք, թէ թագաւորն Արշակ մտցէ ընդ նոսա ի պատերազմ:

45:3 Then all the grandee naxarars of Armenia assembled in one place and consulted, for they would never consent to permit king Arshak to enter battle along with them:

45:4 Ապա զօրավարն Վասակ, հանդերձ ամենայն մեծամեծօքն եւ նախարարօքն ամենայն Հայոց մեծաց, հարկանէր սատակէր զամենայն զօրսն Պարսից:

45:4 So Vasak the general, with all the grandees and naxarars of all of Greater Armenia, struck at and killed all the Iranian troops:

45:5 Եւ սպանանէր Սակստան անդերձապետն. բայց միայն ապրէր Մերուժանն Արծրունի փախուցեալ:

45:5 He also killed Sakstan anderjapet. Only Meruzhan Arcruni survived, as a fugitive:
