26:1 Ի սոյն ամի, որ էր ի [ՆԼԸ] թուականին, նիզակաւոր աստղն կրկին անգամ
երեւեցաւ յամսեանն Քաղոց, որ աւր [ԺԵ]
էր ամսոյն, ի տաւնի փոխման ամենասուրբ Կուսի Աստուածածնին, յարեւելից կուսէ երեւեալ եւ զնշոյլս լուսոյն ընդ հարաւ առաքէր աւուրս ինչ. եւ ապա փոխեալ յայնմ տեսութենէ՝ կայր ի վերայ արեւմտեայ աշխարհին ընդ մուտս արեւուն՝ զնիզակաձեւ լոյսն ընդ արեւելս ձգելով:

26:1 This year, [i.e.], in [438=989], on the [15th] day of the month of Kaghots, on the feast of the Assumption of the All-holy Virgin Mary, the spear-shaped star appeared again on the eastern side (of the sky). գիւղից եւ գաւառաց, եւս առաւել ի Թրակացւոց եւ Բիւթանացւոց աշխարհին հանդերձ ծովովն, որ ի մէջ նոցա ծածանեալ ծփէր սասանմամբ, մինչեւ ի նոյն ինքն թագաւորական քաղաքին Կոստանդնուպոլսի մեծաշուք եւ բազմապայծառ զարդ հրաշատեսիկ սեանց եւ պատկերաց եւ եկեղեցեաց մեծամեծաց կործանեալ փլուզանիւր, եւ նոյն ինքն Սոփիայն, այն, որ կաթողիկէն է՝ հերձանիւր պատառմամբ վերուստ ի վայր:

26:5 Այլ դեռ եւս մնացեալ էր յապստամբացն, որ ընդ Փոկասուն Վարդայ՝ Չորտուանէլ մաժիստռոսն՝ եղբաւրորդի Թոռնկայ աբեղայի, որ բռնացեալ էր ի կողմանս Դերջանայ եւ Տարաւնոյ:
