41:1 Իսկ յետ հարկանելոյ զաւրացն Յունաց ի յԵգիպտացւոց զաւրացն, յորում մեռաւ Դալասանոս մաժիստռոսն, ինքն իսկ թագաւորն Վասիլ եկն յԱնտիոք:

41:1 After the defeat inflicted on the Greek army by the Egyptians, during which Master Dalasanos perished, King Basil arrived in Antioch:

41:2 Եւ անցեալ ընդ Հալպ ի դաշտն Ասորւոց, ի տեղին, ուր հարան զաւրքն նորա, եւ ժողովեալ զխաղխաղակոյտ ոսկերացն՝ հրամայեաց փոս հատանել եւ ի միում տեղւոջ թաղել զամենեսեան, եւ ի վերայ նոցա եկեղեցի շինեաց:

41:2 He went to the Aleppo plain, in Syria, to the very place where his army was defeated; ordered to collect the peacefully resting bones (of the fallen), dig a hole, bury them in one place and build a church over them:

41:3 Եւ ինքն անցեալ՝ առնու զքաղաքն Շաժար եւ այլ բերդս յոլովս եւ ասպատակ սփռեալ մինչեւ ցլեառն Լիբանոս՝ յաւարի էառ զաշխարհն զայն:

41:3 From there he went and took the city of Shazar and many other fortresses; spread the raid to the mountains of Libanos, devastating the whole country:

41:4 Եւ ի տաւնէ Խաչվերացին մինչեւ ցաւր Յայտնութեան Տեառն յամեաց յաշխարհն յայն. եւ ապա դարձեալ եկն նա ձմերել յաշխարհն Կիլիկեցւոց, ի Տարսոն քաղաք, զոր շինեալ էր Սենեքերիմայ արքայի Ասորեստանեայց:

41:4 He remained in that country, starting from the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross until the day of the Epiphany of the Lord; after which he returned to Cilicia to spend the winter in Tarsus, built by Senekerim, king of Assyria:

41:5 Սա պէսգունակ Բաբելոնի, զի եւ ընդ սորա մէջն անցանէ գետն Կիդնոս, որպէս Արածանի ընդ մէջ Բաբելոնի:

41:5 Tarsus is quite similar to Babylon, for the river Kidnos flows through it, as Aratzani through Babylon:
