19:0 Եւ յետ վեց ամսոյ կատարման նորին տարւոյ հանգստեան սրբոյն Սահակայ` վախճանեցաւ երանելին Մաշտոց ի Վաղարշապատ քաղաքի, զոր եւ Նոր քաղաք անուանեն, յերեքտասաներորդի աւուր ամսոյն մեհեկանի. զոր առեալ իշխանին Ամատունեաց Վահանայ զմարմին առաքինւոյն` տարաւ յիւր ի գեաւղն, որ անուանեալ կոչի Աւշական:

19:0 Six months after the repose of saint Sahak, the venerable Mashtoc’ died in the city of Vagharshapat (also called [Nor Kaghak’] (“New City”). This took place on the [13th] day of the month of Mehekan (February). The seventh month of the Armenian calendar). Vahan, prince of the Amatunik’, took the body of this virtuous man to his own village called Oshakan:

19:1 Եւ յոյժ մեծարանաւք զդիր երանելւոյն կազմեալ` տաւն յիշատակի առնեն ամենափոյթ պատուով ամենայն բազմութիւնք ժողովրդոցն Այրարատոյ:

19:1 The tomb of the venerable one was made with very great distinctions, and all the multitudes of the peoples of Ayrarat hold a feast in his honor with the most diligent respect:

19:2 Զորոյ զհետ յաջորդեաց զաթոռ հայրապետութեան աշխարհիս Հայոց, հրամանաւ երանելւոյն Մաշտոցի՝ սուրբն Յովսէփ, որ էր ի գաւառէն Վայոց ձորոյ, ի գեղջէն որում անունն էր Խողոցիմք:

19:2 By order of the venerable Mashtoc’, the blessed Yovsep’ succeeded on the throne of the patriarchate of the land of Armenia. (Yovsep’) was from the village named Xoghoc’imk’ in the district of Vayoc’ Dzor:

19:3 Եւ ի բարեխաւսութենէ սուրբ հանգուցելոցն արանց` շնորհեցաւ աշխարհիս Հայոց պաշտաւն ուղղափառ հաւատոց, մինչեւ ցամն երկոտասաներորդ Յազկերտի արքային Պարսից որդւոյ Վռամայ:

19:3 Through the intercession of these departed men, the land of Armenia was graced with the worship of orthodox religion. This (situation) lasted until [A.D. 451] the [12th] year of the reign of Yazkert [II, 439-57] son of king Vahram of Iran:
