2:1 Եւ զայս ասացեալ՝ արձակեաց զամբոխն. բայց թագաւորն եւ մեծամեծքն ոչ երբեք մեկնէին ի նմանէ, զի հարուածեալք էին եւ ահաբեկեալք. եւ զցայգ եւ զցերեկ կային առ նմա, եւ աւթեվանք նոցա առ նմա լինէին ի մէջ այգւոյն, առ դուրս հնձանին. զգեցեալ քուրձ եւ նստեալ ի վերայ մոխրոյ, եւ պահեալ լինէին պահս աւուրս վաթսուն եւ վեց:

 2:1 Having said all this, he dismissed the crowd. But the king and the nobles never parted from him because they were in torments and fear. Day and night, they stayed with him, dwelling by the door of the vat-store in the middle of the vineyard. They were dressed in hair-shirts, and sat on ashes, and fasted for sixty-six days:

2:2 Եւ այսպէս երանելին Գրիգորիոս անհանգիստ եւ անդադար զցայգ եւ զցերեկ ոչ դադարէր երբեք աւուրս վաթսուն եւ հինգ, խաւսել, խրատել եւ ուսուցանել եւ հաստատել:

 2:2 And in this way for sixty-five days blessed Gregory tirelessly and unceasingly, day and night, never ceased from reasoning, advising, teaching, and confirming them:

2:3 Իբրեւ իմաստուն բժիշկ գտանել ջանայր զդեղն աւգտութեան. զի նոքա մատուսցեն առ նա զանձինս իբրեւ զհիւանդացեալս, եւ նա իբրեւ զճարտարապետ բժշկեսցէ զանձինս նոցա Աւետարանաւն Քրիստոսի:

 2:3 Like a wise doctor he tried to find the appropriate remedy that they might entrust themselves to him as patients, and he like a skilled physician might heal their souls with the gospel of Christ:

2:4 Համաւրէն տեղեկացուցեալ խելամտեցուցանէր. ոչ եթէ ծայրաքաղ ինչ արարեալ աւդաբանս կամ սրավարս խաւսեցաւ, այլ յստակապատում արարեալ ուսուցանէր ամենեցուն. ի սկզբանց անտի սկիզբն արարեալ, յաշխարհահամար յաշխարհապատում արարչութենէ անտի, մինչեւ ի բուն սրբոցն պատգամախաւսացն Աստուծոյ, ամենեցուն իւրաքանչիւր գործոց առաքինութեան եւ հոգեպատում պատգամացն ընդելս եւ ծանաւթս կացուցանէր:

 2:4 He informed and enlightened them about every-thing, abbreviating nothing and speaking neither superficially nor hastily. But he taught them all most clearly, beginning from the beginning, from the creation of the world, up to the holy speakers of God’s words; he made them all acquainted with and aware of the virtuous deeds of each one and their inspired sayings:

2:5 Եւ զարանցն աստուածասիրաց ըստ քրիստոսաւանդ հրահանգելոցն ի ճշմարտութեան, զայր իւրաքանչիւր աստուածամուխ կենաւք եւ վաստակասէր հոգեւոր վարուք իւրովք, հանդերձ վկայութեամբ զմի մի ոք ի նոցանէ առանձինն յականէ յանուանէ ծանուցանէր. եւ նոցին յԱստուծոյ ասացելովքն՝ կարգեալս եւ յարմարեալս ընծայեցուցանէր զամենայն ասացեալ զպատգամսն Հոգւոյն սրբոյ, եւ ըստ նմին զմեկնութիւն նորուն հանդերձեալ գրեաց նորին զաւրութեամբն:

 2:5 He informed them by individual name of each one of the men who loved God, of those instructed in the truth handed down by Christ, of each one’s godly life and spiritual labor and witness and their sayings inspired by God. And he expounded all the words of the holy Spirit in proper order and explained their interpretation by the power of the same Spirit:

2:6 Իսկ նոքա ժողովեալք կուտեալք հասեալք անթիւ մարդկանն, զմիմեամբք դռութեալ՝ խնճոյս կացուցանէին՝ ունկնդրութեան վարդապետութեանն մատուցանել զլսելիս. բազմութիւնք անհունք անչափութեամբք, անհնարին շատութեամբ ժողովեալք ի հռչակէն, տեսանել եւ լսել զանպայման սքանչելիս Աստուածութեանն:

 2:6 They were gathered together in a numberless assemblage of men, jostling each other and sitting as at a banquet, to give their attention to the teaching. The crowds were infinite, gathered in vast numbers from afar in order to see and hear the amazing miracles of the Godhead:

2:7 Ժողովեալք յիւրաքանչիւր գաւառաց արք եւ կանայք եւ մանկտի, ահաբեկեալք յահէն զաւրութեանց արարչութեանն, լինէին հնազանդեալք եւ ունէին զհաւատս:

 2:7 Men, women and children had gathered from each one’s province, awed at the power of the creator, and they submitted and believed:

2:8 Ճեպէին առ ի տեսիլ ցուցական սքանչելեացն, մտերմութեամբ հասեալք լինէին աւգտակար խրատուն կենսաբեր քարոզութեանն բանին կենաց աւետեաց Աւետարանին:

 2:8 They hastened to see the incontestable miracles, they willingly attended to the profitable advice of the lifegiving preaching of the word of life [cf. Phil. 2.16], the gospel:

2:9 Զամենայն յանձն առեալ՝ թագաւորն եւ իշխանքն փութային առնել զի՛նչ եւ հրամայիցէ:

 2:9 The king and the nobles accepted everything and hastened to do whatever he might command:
