30:0 Յաղագս սգոյն, որպէս սգային զհայրապետն Ներսէս, եւ լինէին զնմանէ կաթոգի:

30:1 Ապա յետ սպանանելոյն Պապայ զսուրբ հայրապետն Ներսէս, տխրեցաւ ամենայն մարդ խոր տրտմութեամբ. եւ ամենայն մարդ երկրին Հայոց հաւանէին խօսէին եւ ասէին. Բարձեալ են արդ փառք Հայոց, զի բարձաւ արդարն Աստուծոյ յայսմ երկրէ:

30:1 After Pap had killed the blessed patriarch Nerses, everyone became extremely sad. Everyone in the country of Armenia agreed and note: “The glory of Armenia has departed, for the just man of God has gone from this world:

30:2 Խօսէին իշխանքն եւ նախարարքն, եւ ասէին. Գիտեմք արդ թէ կորեաւ երկիրս մեր. զիա՛րդ հեղաւ արիւն արդար ի տարապարտուց, մանաւանդ զի վասն Աստուծոյ սպանաւ:

30:2 The princes and naxarars spoke: “We know now that our country is lost. The blood of a just man, unjustly condemned, was shed especially since he was killed for God:

30:3 Եւ խօսէր Մուշեղ սպարապետն Հայոց եւ ասէր:

30:4 Սրբոյն Աստուծոյ հեղաւ արիւն ի տարապարտուց. այսուհետեւ ես ոչ կարեմ երթալ ի վերայ թշնամեաց, եւ ոչ նիզակ ումեք ուղղել:

30:5 Զի գիտեմ եթէ եթող Աստուած ի ձեռանէ զմեզ. եւ լքեալ եմք, եւ ոչ կարեմք համբառնալ զգլուխս մեր. զի գիտեմ ես` եթէ չիք յաղթութիւն ի վերայ թշնամեաց երկրիս Հայոց. յաղօթից նորա էր յաղթութիւն որ մեռաւն, եւ ազգի նոցա:

30:5 I know that God has forsaken and abandoned us, and we will be unable to raise our heads. I know that there will be no victory over enemies for the country of Armenia. The prayers of the man who died and those of his azg caused the victories:

30:6 Եւ սգային ամենայն ազատք եւ շինականք ծագէ ի ծագ ամենայն սահմանաց երկրին Հայոց, ազատք եւ շինականք ամենայն բնակիչք տանն Թորգոմայ, հայ լեզուն առ հասարակ:
