18:1 Յաղագս թէ հաւաստի նախ լեալ պատերազմն Շամիրամայ ի հնդիկս, եւ զկնի մահ նորա որ ի Հայս:

18:1 Concerning the certainly that Semiramis first waged war in India and later died in Armenia:

18:2 Ունիմ ի մտի եւ զԿեփաղիոնին, վասն ոչ տալ զմեզ բազմաց ծաղրել, զի ասէ ի բազմաց այլոց նախ յաղագս ծննդեանն Շամիրամայ, եւ ապա զպատերազմն Շամիրամայ ընդ Զրադաշտի եւ զյաղթելն ասէ Շամիրամայ, եւ ապա ուրեմն զպատերազմն հնդկաց:

18:2 I have in mind Cephalion in order not to give many a chance to laugh at me. For he speaks among many other things first of the birth of Semiramis and then of Semiramis’ war against Zoroaster, which he says Semiramis won, and then of her Indian war:

18:3 Այլ հաւաստի մեզ թուեցաւ որ ի Մար Աբայն Կատինայն է քննութիւն քաղդէական մատենից քան զայսոսիկ. քանզի ոճով իմն ասէ եւ զպատճառս պատերազմին յայտնէ:

18:4 Իսկ առ այսոքիւք եւ առասպելք աշխարհիս մերոյ զբազմահմուտ Ասորին արդարացուցանեն` աստ ուրեմն զմահն ասել Շամիրամայ, եւ զհետեւակ փախուստն, զպասքումնն եւ ի զիղձս ջրոյն եւ զարբումնն, այլ եւ ի մաւտ հասանել սուսերաւորաց` եւ զյուռութսն ի ծով, եւ բան ի նմանէ. «Ուլունք Շամիրամայ ի ծով:

18:4 Furthermore the fables of our own land confirm the learned Syrian in speaking of the death of Semiramis here, her flight on foot, her thirst and desire for water, and her drinking; and, when the armed men drew near, the throwing of the talisman into the sea, and the saying derived therefrom: “The pearls of Semiramis into the sea:
