30:1 Յաղագս արտասահման լինելոյ մեծին Ներսիսի, եւ անկանել պատահեալ ի կղզին անբնակ. եւ թէ ո՛րպէս կերակրեալ լինէին ի վերին խնամոցն:

30:1 Concerning the exile of Nersēs the Great, his chance landing on an uninhabited island, and how they were fed by care from on high:

30:2 Ի ժամանակին յայնմիկ էր յաթոռ եպիսկոպոսութեանն Բիւզանդացւոց հոգեմարտն Մակեդոն:

30:2 At that time the episcopal throne of Byzantium was occupied by Macedonius, the Pneumatomachos fighter against the Spirit:

30:3 Եւ իբրեւ ել հրաման յարքունուստ աքսորել զմեծն Ներսէս, որպէս զմի անգամ խաբող եւ դրժող արքայի` մատուցեալ առ նա ոմանց ի հերձուածողաց աղանդոյն Արիոսի, ասեն. «Եթէ դաւանես ընդ մեզ` թափէ զքեզ հայրն մեր Մակեդոն:

30:4 Որում ոչ հաւանեալ` աքսորեցաւ. եւ ի նաւալիւղն լինել ըստ խստաշունչ աւդոյ ձմերայնոյն, ընկեցեալ ի կղզի ինչ անապատ` ջարդեաց զնաւն. եւ նաւորդացն ոչ իշխեցեալ մակուկաւն նաւել, մնային տագնապեալ, ուտելով զարմատս անտառին:

30:4 Since he did not agree, he was exiled. The voyage took place during the fierce winds of winter, which threw the ship up on an uninhabited island and broke it to pieces. The sailors were unable to sail with the dingy and remained in grave straits, eating the roots of trees:

30:5 Այլ ի տեսչութենէն Աստուծոյ կերակրեալ լինէին ամիսս ութ ի ձկանցն, զոր ծովն ընկենոյր կենդանիս:

30:5 But by God’s providence they were nourished for eight months by fish that the sea threw up alive:
|
30:6 Բայց Պապայ յանձն առեալ հանդերձ ամենայն պատանդաւքն` թափեաց Մակեդոն:

30:6 However, Pap accepted the Arian confession of faith with all the hostages, so Macedonius saved them:
