 26:0 The discovery of a fragment of the Lord’s Cross through a vision:

26:1 Արդ՝ անկեալ ի միտ առն միոջ երազիւր երեք ամսաւք յառաջ քան զլինելն պատերազմին այնորիկ. եւ անուն առն Յովսէփ: «Այր մի, ասէ, սքանչելատեսիլ, եկեալ ասէր ցիս՝ պատերազմ լինի զկնի երից ամսոց, եւ անկանին բազումք ի պատերազմին. բայց դու երթիջիր ի տեղի պատերազմին. եւ նշան լիցի քեզ այս, զի տեսանիցես այր մի անկեալ ի վերայ երեսաց երկրի, եւ մարմին նորա պաղպաջէ ի մէջ ամենայն դիականցն, եւ դու երթեալ որ ինչ գտանիցես առ նմա, առցես ի քեզ:

 26:1 Now three months before that battle took place a certain man had a dream and became aware of it. His name was Yovsēp’. ’A man, ’ he said, ’of wonderful appearance came and said to me: “A battle will take place in three months’ time, and many will fall in the battle. But go to the site of the battle, and this will be a sign for you. You will see a man fallen on to the surface of the earth, and his body will shine out among all the corpses. Go and take for yourself whatever you see beside him:

26:2 Եւ զգոյշ լեր, ասէ, մի մոռանայցես զշնորհն այն զի նա է սքանչելի»: Եւ յարուցեալ գնաց. եւ իբրեւ հասեալ ի տեղին՝ գտանէ նոյնպէս, որպէս ի տեսլեանն ասացեալ էր, զի մերկացուցեալ էր զնա եւ զամենայն դիակունսն: Եւ ունէր ընդ անձն շագոյր մաշկեղէն ուս ընդ անութ իւր:

 26:2 And be careful, he said, not to forget that source of grace, because it is miraculous. ’” He rose up and went, and when he reached the place he found just as had been said in the vision. For they had stripped that one and all the bodies. He had with him a leather bag over his shoulder:

26:3 Ապա կայր մարմին նորա ի մէջ դիականցն. եւ մատուցեալ՝ առ յինքն զշագոյրն. եւ տեսանէր զի կայր ի նմա տուփ մի արծաթեղէն եւ խաչ մի ի մէջ նորա, յորում կայր մասն մեծ ի տէրունեան խաչէն: Կնքէր զինքն նովաւ, եւ առեալ գնայ զհետ ընկերաց իւրոց:

 26:3 Now his body was lying amidst the corpses. He approached and took the bag. He saw that there was a silver box in it, and a cross inside that, in which was a large fragment of the Lord’s Cross. He signed himself with it, and taking it went to join his companions:

26:4 Չուեցին ամենայն զաւրքն ի տեղւոջէն յայնմանէ, եւ երթեալ հասանէին յամուրս աշխարհին իւրեանց: Յայնժամ զՎահրիճն խնդրէր թագաւորն ի տուն, եւ առ Սմբատ առաքէր շնորհակալութիւն մեծ, զի միամտութեամբ մարտուցեալ վանեցաւ, եւ ոչ եթող զտեղին, եւ ապա յետոյ ամենեցուն գնայր եւ նա փախստական:
