48:0 Epilogue on the occasion of the end of this work:

48:1 Անբաւ են խորք հրաշից սքանչելագործ հրաշագործութեանցն Աստուծոյ առ ազգս բանականս բիւրուց բոցեղինացն. ինքն Էն էիցս արարչագործէ լոյս ծայրագոյն, մշտածաւալ ծագողութեամբ, անհաս եւ անիմաց յամենայն իմացականացս մնացեալ:

48:1 Immeasurable are the abysses of marvelous miracles (provided) by God to the countless multitude of intelligent fiery (creatures). The Creator of all beings is the highest light, eternally pouring out and remaining incomprehensible and incomprehensible to us rational ones:

48:2 Այսպէս եւ ի ստորինս զգալի արեգակամբ զզգալիսս պայծառացոյց քառահոլով եղանակաւք, աւրաբեր ժամուք, մանրամասնեայ բարեզարդ խառնուածովք ի սուզականն եւ ի ժամադիտակն միշտ հոլովեալ անուաշրջիկ յարահոլով գնացիւք. զորս իմաստունքն յիմաստիցն Աստուծոյ առլցեալք՝ թուեալք յաւուրս եւ յամիսս ամահամար չափեալ զկենցաղոյս չափ:

48:2 He illuminated all the sensual valley with the sensual sun, (bringing behind him) the four seasons, the days (divided) into hours, due to his constant circulation, now hiding under the horizon, now showing up at the zenith. The sages, filled with divine wisdom, calculated and divided time into days, months and years. Having investigated in this way:

48:3 Զոր քննեալ գտաք ի հանդիպման ամին յԱդամայ մինչեւ առ մեզ լինել ամք [ՑՄՁԲ (6282)], եւ ի խաչելութենէ կենարար չարչարանաց Տեառն՝ [ՋՀԲ (972)] ամք:

48:3 We also found that now [6282] years have passed from Adam to our time, and [1004] years from the crucifixion and the life-giving passions of the Lord:

48:4 Իսկ ըստ Յունաց թուականին ի Փիլիպպոս կայսերէ՝ ամք [ՉԾԷ (757)], եւ ըստ հայերէն չափոյ թուականիս մերոյ՝ ամք [ՆԾԳ (453)], որ է ամ երեսներորդ թագաւորութեանն Վասլի կայսեր Յունաց եւ հնգետասան ամ թագաւորութեանն Հայոց Մեծաց Գագկայ արքայի:

48:4 According to the Greek chronology from Emperor Philip [756], and from our Armenian chronology [453] years, which is the [30th] year of the reign of the Greek emperor Basil, the [15th] year of the reign of King Gagik in Great Armenia:

48:5 Այս ամ երեքտասան է հայրապետութեան Տեառն Սարգսի՝ տիեզերափայլ եւ մեծաշնորհ հովուապետի, զորոյ զհրաման ընկալեալ՝ ի վեր քան զկար իմ՝ զհնազանդութեան աւրէնսն կատարելով՝ աղքատիմաց բայիւք զբանս յիշատակիս գրեցի:

48:5 and the [13th] year of the patriarchate of the lord Sargis, glorious and the grace of an adorned archpastor. By order of him (Sargis), not wanting to be a disobedient, I took on the work that exceeded my strength and wrote this Chronicle, as much as my meager means allowed me:

48:6 Այլ որ յամենայնի զխոնարհութեանն երթաս զհետ, եւ զխոնարհեալ Բանն ի հոգւոջ բարձեալ կրես՝ եւ յայսմ եւս խոնարհեալ ընկալցիս զսակաւ սատարութիւնս, զոր քեզ եւ ամենայն մանկանց եկեղեցւոյ մաղթեմ՝ սիրով անտեսել զսխալանս եւ զյանդգնութիւնս իմ. մանաւանդ յարածուփ շրջանք եւ հանապազորդեան հոգք եկեղեցւոյ, որ ըստ հրամանի ձեր՝ ոչ թողացուցանէին մտաց իմոց զետեղել ի պատշաճ յաւրինուած բանիս, զոր կրեմ զփառս եւ զանարգանս, զգովութիւն եւ զպարսաւանս ի ծանրասիրտ եւ ի խստապարանոց ազգէս մերմէ, ի բարեխոհ եւ ի բղջախոհ մարդկանէ, որոց իւրաքանչիւրոցն է հատուցումն յարդար դատաստանին Աստուծոյ:

48:6 But you, who walk the path of humility in everything and carry in your soul the descended Word (of God), you will certainly descend and accept this small offering of mine. I ask you, and all the children of the church, to condescendingly look at my mistakes and my courage, (taking into account) my incessant wanderings and daily worries in the church, undertaken at your order and did not allow my mind to concentrate and write something more worthy of attention. And glory and contempt, gratitude and censure from our hard-hearted and rebellious people, and from people both well-meaning and malicious, fell to my lot. But may the Lord rewards each of them in a righteous judgment:

48:7 Այլ ըստ հայրենի խնամոցն ձերոց հայցեմ եւ ըստ եղբայրական սիրոյ յընթերցողացդ, զի յիշեսջիք զիս ի ժամ աղաւթից արդարահայց մաղթանաւք ձեր. զի որպէս դուք ընդ անմարմինսն խմբեալ դասս բանակաց՝ եւ ես ընդ ձեզ գտեալ զողորմութիւն՝ արժանացայց երգել զերգս աւրհնութեան եռանձնեան եւ միասնական սուրբ Երրորդութեանն, որ է աւրհնեալ յաւիտեանս յաւիտենից:

48:7 I ask you, out of your paternal care, and you, readers, out of your brotherly love, to remember me at the hour of your sincere prayer, so that when you unite with the hosts of the incorporeal, I, having received forgiveness with you (from God), may be worthy to sing a hymn of praise three hypostatic and one holy Trinity, blessed forever and ever:
