31:1 Այս են հաւատք ճշմարիտ. հաւատամք՝ որպէս եւ մկրտեցաք, եւ փառաւորեմք՝ որպէս եւ տեսաք զլոյս աւազանին:

 31:1 This is the true faith. We believe as we have been baptized, and we glorify as we have seen the light of the font:

31:2 Հաւատամք յանուն Հաւր եւ Որդւոյ եւ Հոգւոյն սրբոյ, որպէս ասաց Փրկիչն յԱւետարանին առ աշակերտսն, թէ «Գնացէ՛ք այսուհետեւ աշակերտեցէք զամենայն հեթանոսս, մկրտեցէ՛ք զնոսա յանուն Հաւր եւ Որդւոյ եւ Հոգւոյն սրբոյ:

 31:2 We believe in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit, as the Savior said in the gospel to the disciples: “Go henceforth and make disciples of all the heathen; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit:

31:3 Հաւատամք ի Հայր՝ Աստուած կատարեալ, եւ յՈրդի՝ Աստուած բովանդակ, եւ ի Հոգի սուրբ՝ Աստուած բաւական. մի Աստուածութիւն Սրբոյ Երրորդութեանն, մի Էութիւն, մի կամք, երեք Անձինք կատարեալք:

 31:3 We believe in the Father, perfect God; and in the Son, complete God; and in the holy Spirit, powerful God - one divinity of the holy Trinity, one essence, one will, three perfect persons:

31:4 Հաւատամք ի մի Աստուած Հայր, Տէր եւ արարիչ ամենայնի. եւ ի միածին Որդին, որ ի Հաւրէ եւ առ Հաւր եւ ընդ Հաւր. եւ ի Հոգին սուրբ, որ ի նորին Էութենէ, եւ նովաւ արար զամենայն արարածս:

 31:4 We believe in one God the Father, Lord and Creator of all; and in the only-begotten Son, who is from the Father and in the presence of the Father and with the Father; and in the holy Spirit, who is from the essence of the same, and with him created all creatures:

31:5 Որ է մի տէրութիւն, մի զաւրութիւն, մի իշխանութիւն, մի մեծութիւն, մի գիտութիւն, մի խորհուրդ, մի պետութիւն, մի անսկզբնական զաւրութիւն:

 31:5 Who is one lordship, one power, one authority, one greatness, one knowledge, one council, one leadership, one hypostasis without beginning:

31:6 Երեք կատարեալ Անձինք, եւ մի կատարեալ կամք. անպատում, անքնին միութիւն Երրորդութեանն. մի իսկութիւն, մի բնութիւն, մի Աստուածութիւն Հաւր եւ Որդւոյ եւ Հոգւոյն սրբոյ:

 31:6 Three perfect persons, and one perfect will, ineffable, an inscrutable unity of the Trinity, one being, one nature, one divinity of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit:

31:7 Երեք Անձինք, մի զաւրութիւն Աստուածութեանն. Հայր յանձնէ, Որդի ի Հաւրէ, Հոգին սուրբ ի նոցունց ի նոսին. իսկութեամբ, էութեամբ, Աստուածութեամբ՝ հարթ հաւասար հասարակ, ի խորութիւնս, ի բարձրութիւնս, ի լայնութիւնս, յերկայնութիւնս:

 31:7 Three persons, one hypostasis of the Godhead; the Father from himself, the Son from the Father, the holy Spirit from the same and in them; in being, essence, divinity, equal, alike, together, in depth, in height, in width, in length:

31:8 Որ աներեւակի զաւրութեամբքն թափանցանց լուսով իւրով ելանէ. մերձ է առ ամենեսին եւ հեռի յամենեցունց. անտեսական ի նկատողաց եւ անքնին ի քննողաց, եւ անըմբռնելի է յամենեցունց բնութիւն նորա. մի է Էութիւն բնութեանն, եւ լի է երկինք եւ երկիր փառաւք նորա:

 31:8 In his invisible powers he proceeds with penetrating light. He is near to all and far from all. He is invisible to those who look, and inscrutable to those who examine, and his nature is ungraspable by all. One is the essence of his nature, and the heavens and earth are full of his glory:

31:9 Այս է մեծութիւն միութեան Սրբոյ Երրորդութեանն. բայց զի պայման գովութեան այլ եւ այլ է, եւ այն չէ ծածկեալ յիմաստնոց. այն զի՝ Հայր չծնեալ եւ ծնող է, եւ Որդին չծնող եւ ծնունդ է, եւ Հոգին սուրբ ո՛չ ծնող եւ ոչ ծնունդ, այլ ելող:

 31:9 This is the greatness of the unity of the holy Trinity. But because the mode of praise differs, he is not hidden from the wise; for the Father is not born but begets, and the Son does not beget but is begotten, and the holy Spirit neither begets nor is begotten but proceeds:

31:10 Եւ խոստովանիմք զՀայր՝ անսկիզբն, աներեւոյթ, անհասական, անճառ, անքակ, անբաժին, ամենակալ արարիչ երեւելեաց եւ աներեւութից. նախակարծ յառաջիմաց քան զամենայն արարեալս եւ հաստատեալս:

 31:10 And we confess the Father without beginning, invisible, incomprehensible, ineffable, inseparable, in-divisible, omnipotent creator of things visible and invisible, foreseeing and providing for all things created and established:

31:11 Եւ զԲանն Աստուած Որդի՝ ծնունդ ի Հաւրէ յառաջ քան զյաւիտեանս, առանց սկզբան ժամանակի. անճառ, առանց բաժանելոյ, անքակ՝ առանց մեկնելոյ. առանց չարչարանաց. առանց միջնորդի. եւ նոյն ծնունդ՝ ի կուսէն մարմնով ծնեալ ի վախճանի:

 31:11 And the Word, God the Son, born of the Father before ages, without- beginning in time, ineffable, without division, unsundered, without separation, without suffering, without intermediary; and the same born from the virgin in the flesh at the end:

31:12 Առաքեցաւ Աստուած յԱստուծոյ Որդի, առ մարմին ի կուսէն, եւ եղեւ մարդ կատարեալ. բովանդակեցաւ ճշմարտութեամբ ի մարմին եւ ճշմարիտ իսկ մարդ եղեւ:

 31:12 God the Word was sent by God; he took flesh from the virgin and became a perfect man. He truly became complete in the flesh and became a true man:

31:13 Խոնարհեցաւ եւ խառնեաց զԱստուածութիւնն ընդ մարդկութիւնս եւ զանմեռն ընդ մեռոտս, զի զմարդկութիւնս անքակ արասցէ յանմահութենէ Աստուածութեան իւրոյ:

 31:13 He was humbled and joined his divinity to our humanity, and the immortal with this mortal, in order to make our humanity inseparable from the immortality of his divinity:

31:14 Զի որպէս կամեցաւ, զինչ կամեցաւ՝ եւ եղեւ. եւ որպէս կամեցաւ՝ եւ արար. քանզի չիք ինչ անհնարաւորութիւն ի նմա. եւ յամենայնի զաւրաւոր է, եւ որ ինչ կամի՝ ո՛չ զանցանէ. եւ զմեր հողեղէն բնութիւնս զգեցաւ եւ խառնեաց յանխառն Աստուածութիւն իւր եւ յանապականութիւնն:

 31:14 For as he wished, what he wished also occurred; and as he wished, so he did. For there is nothing impossible with him. In everything he is powerful, and whatever he wishes he does not pass over. He put on our earthly nature and joined it to his unmingled divinity and incorruptibility:

31:15 Վասն մեր էարբ զբաժակն մահու եւ ետ մեզ զբաժակն անմահութեան, եւ զմեռելութիւն արարածոցս կենդանացոյց մահուամբն իւրով, յորժամ յարեաւ մարմնովն եւ նստաւ ընդ աջմէ ծնողին իւրոյ եւ խառնեաց յԱստուածութիւն իւր միածինն:

 31:15 For our sake he drank the cup of death and gave to us the cup of immortality. And he gave life to the mortality of us creatures by his death, when he rose in the flesh and sat at the right hand of his begetter, and the Only-begotten joined it to his divinity:

31:16 Եւ դարձեալ գալոց է փառաւք՝ դատել զկենդանիս եւ զմեռեալս:

 31:16 He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead:

31:17 Եւ Հայր կենդանացոյց զամենեսեան որք ի նայն հաւատացին:

 31:17 And the Father gave life to all who believed in the same:

31:18 Հաւատամք եւ ի սուրբ Հոգին աստուածեղէն, Հոգի սուրբ, Աստուած կատարեալ, առանց առնելոյ. բղխումն մշտնջենաւոր առ ի Հաւրէ. որ խաւսեցաւ յաւրէնս եւ ի մարգարէսն եւ յառաքեալսն, եւ էջ ի Յորդանան գետ:

 31:18 We also believe in the divine holy Spirit, holy spirit, perfect God, without being created, an eternal flowing forth from the Father; who spoke in the law and the prophets and the apostles, and descended to the river Jordan:

31:19 Այսուհետեւ հոգի պետութեան, հոգի ազատութեան, հոգի բերանոյ Աստուծոյ, նորուն էութեան Հաւր եւ Որդւոյ. ոչ արարած, ոչ ծառայ. ոչ հրամանառու, այլ հրամանատու. քանզի մի գործ է Հաւր եւ Որդւոյ եւ Հոգւոյն. որպէս ասաց իսկ Քրիստոս փրկիչն աշխարհաց, թէ «Ես եւ Հայր», եւ «Հոգին ճշմարտութեան, որ ի Հաւրէ ելանէ:

 31:19 Consequently spirit of leadership, spirit of freedom, spirit of God’s mouth, of the same essence as the Father and the Son; not created, not a servant, not a commandment-doer but a commandment-giver. For one is the work of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit, as Christ the Savior of the world note: “I and the Father” [Jn. 10.30 etc.] and: ‘‘The spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father:

31:20 Ելանէ, եւ ոչ բաժանի. բղխէ, եւ ոչ սպառի:

 31:20 He proceeds and is not divided; he flows forth and is not exhausted:

31:21 Այս են երեքանձնականք միութիւն սուրբ Երրորդութեան. եւ մեք զայս ճշմարիտ հաւատս ունիմք ի սուրբ Գրոց եւ յաւրինաց եկեղեցւոյ՝ առաջնորդ ճանապարհի առ Աստուած եւ ի սուրբ Գիրս վարդապետութեան:

 31:21 This is the unity of the three persons of the Trinity. And we hold this true faith from the holy scriptures and the law of the church, the guide for the road to God and for the teaching in the holy scriptures:

31:22 Հաւատամք եւ խոստովանիմք զհամաշխարհական սուրբ կաթուղիկէ եկեղեցի, եւ ակն ունիմք յարութեան մարմնոց ի մեռելոց եւ զկենացն յաւիտենականաց, եւ փառաւորեմք առ հասարակ ի միասին զսուրբ Երրորդութիւնն այժմ եւ անվախճան յաւիտեանսն. ամէն եւ եղիցի եղիցի:

 31:22 We believe and confess the universal holy Catholic church, and we look for the resurrection of the flesh from the dead and eternal life, and we glorify in unison and together the holy Trinity, now and for endless ages. Amen, and may it so be:
