5:1 Արդ՝ ամենարարն, ամենաստեղծն, ամենահաստիչն, ամենիմաստն, ամենատէրն, ամենակալն, ամենագիւտն, ամենաբժիշկն խրատեաց զձեզ, զի Աստուածութեանն իւրոյ զձեզ մերձաւորս արասցէ:

 5:1 Now the creator of all, the maker and fashioner of all, God the all-wise, the almighty and omnipotent Lord of all, the supreme healer has instructed you in order to make you familiar with his divinity:

5:2 Վասն այսորիկ ցուցեալ ձեզ մեաւք զկենաց ճանապարհս եւ զփրկութեան հանգամանս, զթողութիւն միանգամայն ածել հասուցանել ի վերայ. վասն այսորիկ զտեսիլ հանդերձելոցն երեւեցոյց ինձ պատմել ձեզ, առ ժամանակիս զիւր կամսն առ ձեզ կատարելով:

 5:2 Therefore, he has shown you through us the path to life and the way to salvation whereby you may obtain forgiveness. For this reason, he revealed to me the vision of the future, for me to inform you and fulfill among you his will at this time:

5:3 Արդ՝ եւ դուք զասացեալսն ըստ հրամանացն փութացարո՛ւք կատարել:

 5:3 So now come, hasten to fulfill his words according to his commands:

5:4 Եւ արդ՝ եկա՛յք շինեսցուք զվկայարանսն, փոխել զվկայսս ի հանգիստ. զի եւ սոքա փոխեսցեն զձեզ ի նորոգութիւն:

 5:4 Come, let us build the chapels and put the martyrs to rest, that they in turn may bring us to renewal:

5:5 Եւ զայս ասացեալ՝ հրամայեաց զի զնիւթ շինուածոյն վաղվաղակի պատրաստեսցեն:

 5:5 Having said this, he ordered them quickly to prepare the material for the building:

5:6 Եւ ամենայն բազմութեան մարդկանն լուեալ զայն՝ իւրաքանչիւր ընթացան պատրաստել զնիւթսն:

 5:6 When the whole crowd of the populace heard this, each ran to prepare the materials:

5:7 Եւ կուտէին ի հրամայեալ տեղիսն ոմն վէմ, ոմն քար, ոմն աղիւս, ոմն զմայր փայտն, պատրաստէին խնդալից փութով եւ մեծաւ երկիւղիւ:

 5:7 In the appointed places some piled up rocks, others stones, others bricks, others cedar wood; they made their preparations in joy, and in haste and in great fear:

5:8 Եւ ինքն սուրբն Գրիգորիոս զլար ճարտարութեան շինողացն ի ձեռն առեալ՝ զերանելեացն վկայարան հանգստարանացն զհիմունսն յաւրինէր:

 5:8 Saint Gregory himself took up the architect’s line and set out the foundations for the saints’ chapels of repose:

5:9 Եւ մէն մի իւրաքանչիւր ամենայն բազմութեանն սատարութիւն ի ձեռն առեալ, ըստ գեղեցկադիր յարմարելոյ հիմնարկին ի կատարումն շինուածոյն կանգնեցին:

 5:9 Each one in the whole crowd lent his help, and following the well-laid-out foundations they built up the completed edifice:

5:10 Ամենայն ոք ձեռն ի գործ արկեալ, եւ կանանւոյն անգամ սատարեալ ըստ իւրեանց տկարութեան կանացի ուժոյն, եւ այսպէս առ հասարակ գործէին զգործն հաւատովք եւ մեծաւ երկիւղիւ, զի մի՛ ոք ամենեւին անմասն եղեալ ի փրկութենէ շնորհացն, ի բժշկութենէն զրկեսցի:

 5:10 Everyone put his hand to the task, women also helping according to their weaker feminine strength. And thus, they all worked together in faith and great fear, lest anyone fail to obtain his share in the grace of salvation or be deprived of healing:

5:11 Եւ կանգնեալ երիս վկայարանս, մի՝ ի հիւսիսոյ յարեւելից կողմանէ քաղաքին, ուր վկայեաց սանականն Հռիփսիմէ երեսուն եւ երկու ընկերաւք:

 5:11 They erected three martyria: one at the northeastern side of the city, where Rhipsime the san (“protégé,” “tutee”) had been martyred with thirty-two companions:

5:12 Եւ զմիւսն շինեցին ի հարաւակողմ կուսէ անտի, ուր վկայեացն Գայիանէ նորուն սնուցիչն երկու ընկերաւքն:

 5:12 They built one chapel in the southern area, where Gayane, her guardian, and two companions had been martyred:

5:13 Եւ զմիւսն եւս մաւտ ի հնձանն ի մէջ այգւոյն, ուր էին վանք նոցա:

 5:13 And the other chapel they buil near the wine press, in the vineyard where their residence had been:

5:14 Շինեցին կազմեցին զտեղիսն, եւ զարդարեցին ոսկի եւ արծաթի կանթեղաւք լուցելովք, եւ լապտերաւք վառելովք, եւ աշտանակաւք բորբոքելովք:

 5:14 They built and arranged these places and adorned them with burning lamps of gold and silver, with kindled lanterns, and blazing candelabras:
