25:0 Յաղագս տեսլեանն` որ երեւեցաւ արանցն սրբոց անապատաւորաց, Շաղիտայ եւ Եպիփանու, մինչ դեռ նստէին ի լերինն:

25:0 Concerning the vision which appeared to the saintly men Shaghitay and Epipan while they lived in the mountains:

25:1 Արք երկու կրօնաւորք անապատաւորք մինչ դեռ նստէին ի լերինն, անուն միում Շաղիտա, եւ էր սա ազգաւ ասորի, եւ նստէր յԱռեւծ լերինն. եւ միումն անուն Եպիփան, եւ էր սա ազգաւ յոյն, եւ նստէր սա ի մեծի լերինն ի տեղի դիցն` զոր կոչեն աթոռ Անահտայ. եւ էին սոքա երկոքին լեալ աշակերտք սրբոյն Դանիէլի` զոր վերագոյնն յիշեցաք. եւ մինչ դեռ յիւրաքանչիւր լերին նստէին սոքա, ի ժամու` յորում մեռաւ սուրբն Ներսէս, տեսանէին սոքա յիւրաքանչիւր լեառնէ աչօք բացօք ի տուընջեան ժամու զայրն Աստուծոյ զՆերսէս իբրեւ յամպս յափշտակեալս, զի հրեշտակք Աստուծոյ տանէին զնա ի վեր, եւ գունդք գունդք գային նմա առաջի:

25:1 There were two hermit clerics who at that time were living in the mountains. One was named Shaghitay, a Syrian by nationality, who lived up on Arhewc mountain. The other was named Epipan, a Greek by nationality, who, dwelled on the great mountain, in the place of the gods, called the Throne of Anahit. Both of them had been students of the beloved Daniel, whom we recalled above. At the hour that saint Nerses died, while each of the hermits was in the mountains, each one saw with open eyes during the daytime, Nerses, the man of God, as though being taken to the clouds. For the angels of God were taking him upward, and the hosts were coming before him:

25:2 Իբրեւ տեսին զայս տեսիլ անապատաւորքն, զարմացեալք ընդ գործն ընդ այնս. բայց Շաղիտայն` որ էրն յԱռեւծ լերինն` քանզի էր հմուտ այր, գիտաց եթէ հանգուցեալ է սուրբն Ներսէս, եւ այն ոգիք նորա երեւին նմա. բայց Եպիփան եդ ի մտի իւրում, թէ մարմնով իցէ յափշտակեալ զնա:

25:2 When the hermits saw this vision, they were astonished. Shaghitay, however, who was on Arhewc mountain, since he was a sagacious man, realized that the holy Nerses had died and that it was his spirit which had appeared to him. Epipan, on the other hand, thought that Nerses had been taken corporally:

25:3 Ապա յարեան յիւրաքանչիւր լեռնէ` ընթացեալք փութով մինչեւ յԵկեղեաց գաւառ, եկին քննեցին տեսին զի կատարեալ էր սուրբ հայրապետն Ներսէս. եւ եկին մինչեւ ի Թիլոյ գեւղն, եւ տեսին զտեղին` յորում եդեալ էր զնա. եւ դիպեալք միմեանց արքն հաւատարիմք, պատմէին միմեանց զոր ինչ տեսինն` առաջի ժողովրդոցն:

25:3 Each descended from the mountain and hurried to the district of Ekegheats, where they investigated and saw that the blessed patriarch Nerses was in fact dead. They went to Til village and saw the place where he was buried. It was here that these two believing men encountered each other, and narrated before the people what they had seen:

25:4 Բայց էին արքն այն հրեշտակակրօնք, յանապատին սնեալք եւ կեցեալք. զի եւ կարօղք էին նշանս առնել մեծամեծս, եւ ամենեցուն գիտելի եւ ծանօթք էին գործք նոցա:

25:4 Those were men of angelic faith, nourished and living in the wilderness. They were able to work very great miracles and their deeds were known and familiar to everyone:
