15:1 Եւ կազմեցան պատրաստեցան, առին ընդ իւրեանս պատարագս՝ ոսկի եւ արծաթ, ձիս եւ ջորիս եւ հանդերձս գունակ գունակս ի զարդ եւ ի սպաս պատուական տեղեացն սրբոց տանցն Աստուծոյ՝ ուր առաքեալքն էին. եւ ամենայն եկեղեցեացն առնէին պատրաստութիւն պատարագաց՝ ընդ որ էին անցանելոց:	15:1 The members of the Armenian delegation organized and prepared for the journey, taking along with them gifts: gold, silver, horses, mules, clothing of many colors, as decorations and for honorable service in the holy places of the houses of God, where they were being sent. For all the major churches that they would pass, they took prepared gifts:
15:2 Եւ հանէին զԳրիգոր յոսկիապատ կառսն արքունականս՝ սպիտակաձիգ ջորւոցն:	15:2 Then they put Gregory into the royal carriage, which was covered with gold and pulled by white mules:
15:3 Եւ ամենայն իշխանքն գումարեալք ընդ նմա կառաւք եւ երիվարաւք, զաւրաւք, նշանակաւք, իւրաքանչիւր գնդաւ խաղացին գնացին յԱյրարատեան գաւառէն, ի Վաղարշապատ քաղաքէ. եւ հասեալ ի սահմանս Յունաց՝ բազում պատիւս կազմութեան հիւրամեծարութեան գտանէին ի քաղաքաց քաղաքաց:	15:3 All the princes gathered around him with carriages and horses, troops, banners, each prince with his own brigade, and then departed from the city of Vagharshapat in the district of Ayrarat. They reached the borders of the Greeks (Byzantines), where in every city they were received with much honor and organized hospitality:
15:4 Եւ բազում խնդութիւնս եւ կայտիռս ցնծութեան, խնճոյս ուրախութեան կացուցանէին, իբրեւ լսէին զԱստուծոյ արարեալ զսքանչելիսն, եւ զհասելոց դարձ փրկութեան եւ զճանապարհս աւգտակարս:	15:4 There was much rejoicing, delight, and feasting when they heard about the miracles wrought by God, about the turn to salvation, and about their useful journey for Gregory’s ordination:
15:5 Այսպէս պատուեալ ըստ ճանապարհացն՝ մինչեւ գային հասանէին ի քաղաքն Կեսարացւոց. եւ անդ տեսանէին զսուրբ կաթողիկոսն Ղեւոնդիոս, եւ զամենայն եկեղեցական գունդս գունդս սրբոցն կղերիկոսացն եւ զդասս դասս հրեշտակակրաւն պաշտաւնէիցն:	15:5 And thus honored on their journey, they arrived at the city of Caesarea. There they saw the blessed katoghikos Leontius, and all the brigades of blessed clerics and all the classes of servitors with their angelic religion:
15:6 Տուեալ ողջոյն եւ պատմեալ նոցա՝ որ ինչ միանգամայն եղեալ էր յԱստուծոյ, եւ մատուցին զթուղթ թագաւորին առաջի սրբոյ քահանայապետին. եւ նորա մեծաւ խնդութեամբ ընկալեալ եւ ամենայն քաղաքացեացն մեծաւ ուրախութեամբ:	15:6 They greeted them and informed them of what wonders God had wrought, and gave the king’s letter to the blessed chief priest. Leontius received it with great joy and all the citizens rejoiced:
15:7 Եւ ամենեքեան առնէին տաւն ցնծութեան, եւ զսուրբն Գրիգոր պատուեալ ըստ արժանի առաքինութեանցն ճգնութեանցն վկայաւրէն մարտին՝ կանթեղաւք եւ սաղմոսիւք եւ երգովք հոգեւորաւք փառաւորէին:	15:7 They all held a feast of celebration and honored saint Gregory for his meritorious virtue and persistence in his martyr-like battles, glorifying him with candles, psalms, and spiritual songs:
15:8 Եւ իշխանաց քաղաքին ցուցեալ բազում մեծարանս հասելոցն եւ ընկալեալ հոգաբարձութեամբ ըստ Քրիստոսի անուանելոյն կարգի:	15:8 The princes of the city showed great honor to those who had arrived, receiving them with great care, according to their Christian custom:
15:9 Եւ այսպէս մեծապատիւ յամենեցունց մեծարեալ ըստ արժանաւորութեանն երանութեան վկայական անուան ստացելոյ:	15:9 Thus Gregory was greatly exalted by all, according to the merit of the blessed name of martyr which he had received:
15:10 Եւ եղեալ ժողով բազմութեան եպիսկոպոսաց ի քաղաքն Կեսարացւոց, զի ձեռնադրեսցեն զսուրբն Գրիգորիոս եւ աւանդեալ ի նա զպատիւ խոնարհութեան քահանայութեանն Քրիստոսի, եւ զբարձրութիւն եպիսկոպոսութեան փառաւորութեանն Աստուծոյ, զպատիւն եւ զփառսն մեծ:	15:10 Then there took place in the city of Caesarea an assembly of multitudes of bishops, so that they ordain the blessed Gregory. They passed on to him great honor and glory: the honor of the humility of Christ’s priesthood, and the loftiness of the episcopacy of God’s glory:
15:11 Սրբով Աւետարանաւն եդին ի վերայ նորա ձեռս ժողովք եպիսկոպոսացն, որոց գլխաւորն Ղեւոնդիոս, զի առցէ նա իշխանութիւն յերկինս եւ յերկրի, առնուլ զփականս արքայութեանն երկնից, կապել եւ լուծանել յերկրի:	15:11 Holding the blessed Gospel, the assembly of bishops, chief of them being Leontius, laid their hands on him, so that he might receive authority in heaven and on earth to receive the keys of the kingdom, to bind and loose on earth:
15:12 Մեծաւ պատուով եւ թղթով եւ ժողովով զսուրբն Գրիգորիոս անդուստ յուղարկեցին իշխանաւքն հանդերձ:	15:12 With great honor and a letter the Caesarean clerics sent off saint Gregory with the princes:
15:13 Ետուն ողջոյն, եւ յուղի անկեալ անտի ի շնորհս տեառն մերոյ Յիսուսի Քրիստոսի՝ գային հասանէին ի քաղաքն Սեբաստացւոց, եւ անդ յեցան յերեկաւթս աւուրս ոչ սակաւս:	15:13 They exchanged greetings and, with the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, set out on the road, arriving at the city of Sebastia. They remained there for not a few days:
15:14 Եւ անդ գտանէր բազմութիւն եղբարց, զորս հաւանեցուցանէր ընդ իւր գալ, զի վիճակեցուսցէ զնոսա ի քահանայութիւն յիւրում աշխարհին, եւ բազում գունդս գունդս յաճախեալ առնոյր ընդ իւր, «եւ մեծարանաւք մեծարեալ յեպիսկոպոսաց աշխարհին եւ յիշխանաց եւ ի ժողովրդոց:	15:14 There Gregory found a multitude of clerical brothers whom he convinced to accompany him, so that he might appoint them to the priesthood of his land. He took brigades of them along with him. Gregory was greatly exalted by the bishops, princes, and people of that land:
15:15 Իսկ ընդ որ անցանէին՝ կուտէին ժողովուրդք ի վերայ ժողովրդոց՝ տեսանել զսուրբ եպիսկոպոսն Գրիգորիոս, զի աւրհնեսցին ի նմանէ. եւ ասէին ցմիմեանս. «Եկա՛յք տեսցուք զսուրբ եպիսկոպոսն Գրիգորիոս. զի այս այն այր է, ասէին, որ վասն Քրիստոսի համբեր չարչարանաց, վկայ հաւատարիմ գտեալ, զխոստովանողական անուն ժառանգեաց:	15:15 Now whatever place they passed through, the people crowded together to see the blessed bishop, Gregory, to be blessed by him. And they said to one another: “Come, let us see the blessed bishop, Gregory, for he is that man who, for Christ, endured torments and, being found to be a faithful martyr, has inherited the name of confessor:
15:16 Եւ յետ այսորիկ առնոյր ընդ իւր զբազմութիւն հաւանելոցն՝ նախարարակոյտ զաւրուն հանդերձ. հրաժարեալ այնուհետեւ շնորհատուր պարգեւաւքն եւ ամենայն իւրայովքն յանձն եղեալ շնորհացն Աստուծոյ՝ ճանապարհորդ լինէր. եւ այսպէս զբազում աւթեվանաւք անցեալ՝ առողջութեամբ, յաջողութեամբ եւ հոգելից ուրախութեամբ եկեալ հասանէին ի Հայաստան աշխարհն:	15:16 After this Gregor took with him the multitude of those priests consenting to accompany him as well as the troops of nobles. Taking leave with gifts of gratitude, Gregory and all his people set out, with the grace of God. Thus, passing many way stations, he arrived at the land of Armenia, in health, success, and spiritual joy:
