25:0 Եւ գրեալ զայս ամենայն բանս ի նամակին սուրբ քահանայից ժողովոյն, եւ հանդերձ ամենայն նախարարաւքն Հայոց ետուն տանել առ թագաւորն Արեաց Յազկերտ:	25:0 The holy priests assembled there wrote all these words in the letter; then, together with all the naxarars of Armenia they had it taken to Yazkert, king of the Aryans:
25:1 Եւ նորա հրամայեալ կոչել զմոգսն եւ զամենայն աւագսն դրանն` ետ բանալ զնամակն զոր առաքեցին Հայք, եւ կարդալ առաջի ամենեցուն:	25:1 He ordered the mages and all the senior personages of the court to be assembled, had the letter sent by the Armenians opened, and read in the presence of all:
25:2 Եւ լուեալ զբանս նամակին թագաւորն հանդերձ մոգաւքն եւ ամենայն աւագանեաւ դրանն, եւ սրտմտութեամբ բարկութեան գրգռեալ` հարցանէր ցմոգսն եւ ցամենայն Արեաց աւագանին, թէ «Ձեզ զիա՞րդ թուի, ծառայից այդպիսի աներկիւղ համարձակութեամբ գրել առ իւրեանց տէրն:	25:2 The king, the mages, and the entire nobility of the court heard the words of the letter. Seized with rage (Yazkert) asked the mages and the entire Aryan nobility: “What do you think of servants who write to their lord with such bold audacity:
25:3 Իսկ դասք մոգուցն եւ ամենայն մեծամեծացն աւագանւոյն դրանն` յոտն կացեալ ասացին, թէ «Նոցա զկորուստն անձանց իւրեանց եւ աշխարհի գրեալ է առ ձեզ. բայց ձեզ թէ ո՛րպէս պարտ է ծանուցանել նոցա զձեր տէրութիւն եւ զնոցա ծառայութիւն` զայն դուք իշխէք:	25:3 The class of mages and all the grandee nobility of the court stood up and note: “They have written to us regarding the destruction of themselves and of their land. But now you must be bold to acquaint them with your lordship and their status as servants:
25:4 Առաւել եւս գրգռեալ զթագաւորն եւ զամենայն աւագանին ասելով. «Եթէ ոչ ուստեք ունէին նոքա յայլուստ աւգնականութեան յոյս` զայդպիսի բանդ ի միտս իսկ իւրեանց նկատել չ իշխէին, թող թէ նամակաւ առ ձեր թագաւորութիւնդ առաքել:	25:4 The king and all the nobility became yet more aroused and the view was expressed that: “If they did not have hopes of expecting aid from some quarter, they would never have dared to consider this, let alone write it in a letter and send it to your kingdom:
25:5 Զայս չարախորհուրդն Միհրներսեհ ասէր: Եւ թագաւորն Յազկերտ իբրեւ լուաւ զայս ամենայն ի մոգուցն եւ յամենայն դրան աւագանւոյն` սրտմտութեամբ զայրացեալ` հրաման ետ վաղվաղակի հրովարտակս առնել յաշխարհն Հայոց եւ Վրաց եւ Աղուանից:	25:5 The malicious Mihrnerseh said this. When king Yazkert heard this from all the mages and all the court nobility, he became even more enraged and commanded that hrovartaks be written immediately to the land of Armenia, to Iberia and to Aghbania (Aghuania:
25:6 Եւ հրամայէր գրել յերեսին հրովարտակսն, զի ամենայն տանուտեարքն եւ աւագ սեպուհքն երեցունց աշխարհացն փութով եւ անխափան ի դուռն եկեսցեն. «եւ որ ոք, ասէ, ծուլացեալ յապաղեսցէ` առանց ամենայն թողութեանց մահու պատուհաս կրեսցէ:	25:6 And in the hrovartaks he commanded that it be written that all the tanuters and senior sepuhs of the three lands should come to the court swiftly and without delay. And he note: “Should anyone lazily delay he will be put to death without any clemency:
25:7 Եւ հասեալ հրովարտակս այս յերեսին յաշխարհսն, Հայոց, Վրաց եւ Աղուանից, եւ ընթերցեալ առաջի նոցա, իբրեւ լուան զայնպիսի ստիպով զկոչումն զամենեցունց` անդէն եւ անդ գիտացին զպատճառս իրացն, թէ չէ խաղաղութեամբ, այլ կորստեան ոգւոց է ստիպումն կոչմանս այսորիկ. տրտմեալք աղմկէին եւ յԱստուծոյ աւգնականութիւնն ապաստանեալ ապաւինէին:	25:7 When the hrovartaks reached the three lands of Armenia, Iberia, and Aghbania (Aghuania) and were read in the presence (of the nobility), as soon as they learned that all of them had been summoned with such urgency, they knew at once what was afoot, that the urgent summonses did not bode peace but the ruination of their souls. In despair they lamented and took refuge in God’s assistance:
25:8 Պատգամաւորութիւն այնուհետեւ երեքին աշխարհքն առ միմեանս առնէին եւ ուխտադրութիւնս, եւ բազում երդմամբ Աւետարանին հաստատէին:	25:8 The three lands then sent delegations to one another, made a pact, and confirmed it with many vows sworn on the Gospels:
25:9 Խորհէին` զչերթալն որպէս ապստամբութիւն կարծեցուցանել, եւ զերթալն խռովեալք տարակուսէին. հաշուէին զերթալն լաւագոյն, եւ ելից իրացն զԱստուած կոչէին աւգնական:	25:9 They thought that if they did not go (to court) they would be considered to be in rebellion, but they were in agitated doubt about going. They considered it better to go, and called on God’s help to find a way out for them:
25:10 Բայց զիւրեանց զմիտս եւ զբանս եւ զխորհուրդս, միջնորդութեամբ սրբոյ Աւետարանին, անքակ եւ աներկեւան առ միմեանս հաստատէին, թէ Երթամք, այո՛, այլ ուրանալ զԱրարիչն երկնի եւ երկրի ոչ հաւանիմք:	25:10 However, with the intercession of the holy Gospels, they confirmed with each other to unitedly and boldly hold to their thoughts, words, and plans, saying: “Yes, let us go, but let us not consent to apostasizing the Creator of heaven and earth:
25:11 Եւ այս կատարի մեզ յԱստուծոյ, յորժամ ցուցանեմք զմեզ Քրիստոսի մի մարմին եւ մի հոգի. յիշելով զսուրբ զառաքեալսն, զքարոզքն սուրբ եկեղեցւոյ, որոց էր սիրտ մի եւ ոգի մի. որոց բարեխաւսութեամբ ուղղեսցէ զմեր պատասխանիս առաջի ահեղ թագաւորին Փրկիչն մեր եւ Տէր Յիսուս Քրիստոս, եւ պահեսցէ զմեզ յարձակմանէ չար գազանին, որ դիմեալ գայ ի վերայ մեր. քանզի ոչ երբէք Աստուած զմիաբանեալսն ի բարի կամս` եթող ի ձեռաց:	25:11 God will arrange this for us if we show ourselves as part of Christ’s body and soul, recalling the blessed Apostles, the sermons of the holy Church which are of one heart and soul. May their intercession correct our answers before the awesome king, our Saviour, Lord Jesus Christ, and protect us from the attack of the wicked beast which is coming against us:
25:12 Իսկ եթէ ոք որոշեալ ճեղքեսցի յայս ուխտէս միաբանութեան` եւ Որդի մարդոյ, որպէս եւ ինքն իսկ ասէ, ուրացեալ ընկեսցէ զայնպիսին յերեսաց իւրոց առաջի Հաւր եւ հրեշտակաց երկնից:	25:12 But should someone decide to violate this oath of unity and apostasize the Son of man, as (Christ) Himself said, that person will be rejected by Him before the Father and the angels of [Matthew 10, 33; Luke 12, 9] heaven:
25:13 Եւ այսպէս միաբանեալք ուխտիւք եւ երդմամբ երեքեան աշխարհքն, Հայք, Վիրք, Աղուանք, գնացին ի դուռն:	25:13 Thus united by oath and vow, (the nobility of) the three lands of Armenia, Iberia, and Aghbania (Aghuania) went to court:
25:14 Եւ որք ի ժամուն ի մեծամեծ աւագանւոյն Հայոց յուղի անկեալ ճանապարհորդեցան` այսոքիկ են:	25:14 Members of the grandee nobility of Armenia who went on the journey at that time were as follows:
25:15 ի տոհմէն Սիւնեաց Վասակ Սիւնեաց տէրն, որ եւ ի ժամուն մարզպանն էր Հայոց. Եւ ի տոհմէն Արծրունեաց Ներշապուհ. ի տոհմէն Ռշտունեաց Արտակ. ի տոհմէն Խորխոռունեաց Գադիշոյ. ի տոհմէն Մամիկոնէից Վարդան, Հայոց ասպարապետ եւ տէրն Մամիկոնէից. ի տոհմէն Մոկաց Արտակ. ի տոհմէն Ապահունեաց Մանէճ. ի տոհմէն Ամատունեաց Վահան. ի տոհմէն Վահեւունեաց Գիւտ. ի տոհմէն Անձեւացեաց Շմաւոն:	25:15 from the tohm of Siwnik, ’ Vasak, lord of Siwnik’ who, at the time was the marzpan of Armenia, from the tohm of Arcrunik, ’ Nershapuh, from the tohm of Rshtunik, ’ Artak, from the tohm of Xorxorhunik, ’ Gadishoy, from the tohm of Mamikoneank, ’ Vardan, asparapet of Armenia, and lord of the Mamikoneank, ’ from the tohm of Mokk, ’ Artak, from the tohm of Apahunik, ’ Manech, from the tohm of Amatunik, ’ Vahan, from the tohm of Vahewunik, ’ Giwt, from the tohm of Anjewac’ik, ’ Shmawon:
25:16 Եւ յաշխարհէն Վրաց` բդեշխն Աշուշայ եւ այլ տանուտեարք աշխարհին:	25:16 and from the land of Iberia, the bdeshx Ashusha and other tanuters of the land:
